This Buri Sugar Palm Nativity set is hand made from one of the most self-regenerating / self-sustaining / ecologically friendly natural materials. Hand crafted in the Philippines. Figures stand 6.75" tall. Stable mesures 12.5"H x 13.5"W x 8"D

This 11-pc Nativity scene features the Holy Family, Shepherd, Shepherd Boy, Sheep, Donkey, Three Kings, and Camel. This is a Fair Trade Nativity Scene. $89.99.

Buri Palms live for up to 50 years and grow new leaf fronds continuously. First, the stems are crushed and soaked in stream water until only strong fibers remain. They are then are combed to separate and clean them. They are cut to length and twisted on a wire core into brush cylinders. The brush is trimmed and bent and other plant parts are attached for eyes, ears, legs, etc. Organic dye is added for color.
