Description

Nativity Scene hand-made in the USA, the Companions Collection features hand cast bonded marble figures created by designer Linda McDonald. Hestia figure Isabelle the milk maid. She is the wife of Avi the cloth merchant and mother to Talia and Aaron.

Introduced to the Companions Collection in 2006. Note: The Hestia Isabel figure was retired at the end of 2015 and is only available while supplies last.

Isabel, a milk maid, lives in Hebron, just outside Bethlehem. She and her husband, a cloth merchant, have two children and are expecting a third very shortly. Isabel has sent her children to Bethlehem to see the new baby who was born in a stable. She will join them after she has finished milking the goat and gathering some grain that will be gifts for the Holy Family. From the Hestia Companions Nativity story card: Isabel knows that the baby born in the stable is special because the stars are very bright and there are more of them than usual. On the road to Bethlehem, she passes many other people who are also going to see the baby, When Isabel arrives in Bethlehem with her gifts she sees her children at the stable admiring the Baby Jesus. She hurries to join them so that they can experience this blessed event together. The Christmas season is beautifully portrayed in this heirloom quality nativity set. Carefully chosen fabrics are applied to the bonded marble sculptures to add texture and an authentic first century appearance. Each year artist Linda MacDonald adds a new piece and retires an old one, and collectors are building value as they enjoy the beauty of this Christmas Nativity scene.
