Description
Dressed in traditional Peruvian dress, this Fair Trade nativity scene represents the Holy Family in an especially unique style. Ayacucho is a town in Peru, famous for it's 35 churches - one for each year of Jesus' life.
This nativity scene is made from red clay which is fired and then exquisitely hand-painted in traditional Peruvian colors and patterns. 5" H x 3 1/2" W x 1 1/4" D.
This Nativity scene was acquired through a Fair Trade organization. Fair Trade pays impoverished artisans a fair price for their work.

Beautiful
This set is really lovely. The painting is carefully done and looks almost perfect but with the tiny variations that confirm it was hand-painted. Something to be aware of: the color of the coats is actually red, not orange (which was a pleasant surprise for me).
