This 3.25 inch scale creche set is made in Italy and handcarved from Alpine Maple, which is indigenous to the Groden Valley and is used for all LEPI woodcarvings. The wood is dried naturally for two years, then kiln dried for two weeks, reducing the wood to a moisture content of 8-12%. This enables the carvings to be in families for generations without any cracking or damage to the wood.
Purchases of any LEPI woodcarvings are viewed as family heirlooms and are passed from generation to generation. Each piece of this exquisite Christmas Nativity has been handcarved and handpainted in the Lepi workshops in Italy after the original models made by the master woodcarver Rupert Reindl (1908-1990). This Nativity sold here is one of Reindl's most famous works, and by purchasing the woodcarvings, you will have acquired a work of art, and a cherished heirloom.

Didn't get it all
The figurines are lovely, but they didn't come with the stable. Repeated attempts to notify the company have only been met with the statement that UPS delivered the package. Yes, they did, but it was incomplete. My rating would be 5 stars if I had received the whole set.

Wedding Gift
Purchased this for a wedding gift for my niece and her husband. Will give them the wisemen next year. It is really pretty and the detail is amazing. And it's made in Italy so they liked that too.
