Fair trade nativity scene from Zimbabwe is uniquely carved by Shona artisans in Zimbabwe. Soapstone African nativity figure stands just over 12 inches tall.


The Shona are a Bantu ethnic group native to the country of Zimbabwe. Shona sculptures are celebrated by the art community worldwide and have been displayed in museums internationally, including MOMA in New York.


As each one of the shona sculptures are handcarved, some variation in stone color and shape may be evident.


Artisan group: Shona artisans from Zimbabwe. This Nativity figurine was acquired through a Fair Trade organization.  Fair Trade pays impoverished artisans a fair price for their work. Fair Trade puts people first, not profits.
