Each piece in this unique nativity scene depicts the birth of Jesus through the eyes of Hazara Afghan culture. Mary wears a beautifully embroidered long dress called a perahan. Joseph wears a traditional embroidered cap called a dopa and the infant Jesus is swaddled in an Afghan cradle.
