Description
Women of Azerbaijan knit these expressive little nativity figures using soft colorful yarn. Azerbaijan has a deeply rooted knitting tradition with one of the most famous Azerbaijani knit items being the colorfully patterned house socks called jorab. Highly skilled knitters of traditional jorab socks also knit these lovely little nativity figures.
This set of nativity figures measure about 3 inches tall and are open at the bottom and can be used as finger puppets.

Tiny treasure
This tiny nativity is precious. Because Azerbaijan is primarily Muslim, the handmade nativity is rare and this is a lovely example.
