Saint Francis of Assisi created the first living nativity scene in 1223 in an effort to teach people about Jesus's humble birth. In this nativity we see Saint Francis visiting the new born baby Jesus with the Basilica San Francesco di Assisi in the background. 

Handmade from ceramic. Fair trade imported from Peru. Measures about 2.5 inches tall x 3.5 inches wide x 1.85 inches deep.
