From the Hestia Companions Nativity story card: Simeon was an elderly man living in Jerusalem at the time of Jesus' birth. He was very righteous and devout, and it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. Now the Christ has arrived, and the prophecy fulfilled. With great joy, Simeon blesses God and says: Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to the word, for mine eyes have seen thy salvation .
