Nestled within a hand-woven basket is this adorable masapán Nativity scene. Masapán (pronounced MAH-ze-pahn) is bread dough and is traditionally used in Ecuador by local artisans. This product is entirely made by hand in small villages. There can be a significant variation in the end product (see our photo for an example). Order fulfillment is done randomly and specific items may not be requested.
This masapán Nativity comes to us from a fair trade organization that works directly with the artisans, putting people before profits.
