Description
This colorful star-shaped nativity scene is a wonderful example of traditional Peruvian Arpillera textile art. Handcrafted by skilled fair trade artisans, the tapestry features Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus surrounded by sheep, a cow and a donkey.
Each part of the creche scene is carefully appliquéd and hand-stitched onto a rich blue fabric background. We particularly love the embroidered stars and a prickly pear cactus with bright red fruit... and of course the joyful infant Jesus!
Measuring 10 inches across, this arpillera nativity wall hanging includes an attached cord for easy display.
