Description

From the Czech Republic comes this splendid, whimsical 16 piece Nativity scene in sturdy punch out cardboard. Bright colors and a happy tone mark this easy to assemble Nativity. The standing figures in this nativity are 3.5 inches tall. The stable measures 5.5 inches tall (including the star on the top).

Josef Lada designed this nativity scene in 1920 and it depicts a nativity inspired by images from the village where he was born and grew up: Hrusice in the Czech Republic. It has such a wonderful, European style to it, we can't resist it. NAT1

Josef Lada (1887 - 1957) was Czech painter, author, illustrator and dramatist. He was born in a small village of Hrusice, near Prague, in a cobbler's family. Entirely self-taught, he created his own style as a caricaturist for newspapers, and later as an illustrator.

Josef Lada Nativity from the Czech Republic

This is such a whimsical, wonderful addition to my international nativity collection. The illustration, from the 1920s, is bright, colorful. The format is the same as my first nativity, 60 years ago: pressed board. I have used Yonder Star exclusively for my nativity search for several years now. Products and service are first rate; every time.

This is a sweet nativity. Love the everyday people from a past time. Only negative is going to have to take each character/figure apart. But worth it

I purchased this mainly for my grandchildren so that they would have something directly from the Czech Republic. Our family if of Czech heritage. This set is easy to set up and is different from most traditional Nativity sets. It has a whimsical flair and fun-loving flair.
